What is a LITERACY MUSEUM?
Our museum started because a group of students were so engaged in a book (Time for Andrew) they wanted to bring in artifacts they had at home that accompanied the book. Other students started drawing scenes from the story as it was read aloud, and quickly we had to find some place special to highlight their creativity and enjoyment of the book. Our museum is a work in progress, expanding and changing as we read more. Each month or so we will focus on a different author and students will have a new opportunity to create a museum exhibit that reflects the book.
We hope you enjoy your "visit"!
